When we found four kittens abandoned this summer, the post was shared over 450 times and every kitten was placed in a foster home within days. That reach is only possible because people like you keep the food bowls full.
Read the post on Facebook →Baltimore's Show Your Soft Side chose a photo of Tweety, a kitten thrown from a car who needed emergency tail surgery, to launch Project Kitty Angel, a city-wide spay/neuter effort for Baltimore's 82,000 street cats. We are one of the small crews doing that work every day.
See the Project Kitty Angel post →Councilwoman Phylicia Porter, chair of the council's Public Health and Environment Committee, wrote a formal letter of support for Maryland Fur Babies, affirming that we provide meaningful services to Baltimore residents and their pets. The State of Maryland has also approved us for the Federal Surplus Property Donation Program.
See our press kit & recognition →Rescue often begins with everyday necessities and someone willing to act. We work to connect vulnerable animals with the care and resources they need.
Helping provide basic necessities and safer temporary environments for animals facing hardship.
Supporting access to appropriate veterinary care, including spay and neuter needs when possible.
Networking with caregivers, volunteers and community resources to find sensible paths forward.
These are some of the fur babies we are feeding and treating right now. Every dollar goes to their food, litter, flea treatment, vaccines and vet visits.
Maryland Fur Babies grew from a simple act of kindness: feeding and protecting the stray cats and animals nobody else was looking after. As the need grew, so did the mission. We are a small family run, grass roots rescue, and today our reach extends well beyond Maryland.
Maryland Fur Babies is dedicated to rescuing, protecting and advocating for animals in need. We provide food, shelter, medical care and loving support to stray, abandoned and neglected animals while inspiring compassion and responsibility within our community.
Our goal is simple: give every fur baby the chance to live a safe, healthy and loved life.
Your gift helps support practical rescue needs such as food, medical care, shelter and transportation.
